C&S Wholesale Grocers Forms Exclusive Strategic Partnership With DUMAC

KEENE, New Hampshire – October 21, 2019 – C&S Wholesale Grocers, Inc. announced that it has entered into an exclusive and strategic partnership with DUMAC Business Systems, Inc. to distribute DUMAC’s industry-leading point of sale software solution portfolio, RORCv6, to 1,000 C&S independent grocery customers across the United States. The agreement is effective immediately with the execution of the license agreement.

According to the Grocery & Food Service Quarterly Industry Report (March 2019 issue), challenges facing the independent grocery business include increased competition from online retailers driving lower margins due to price transparency. Independent grocers need to deploy whole store technology from improved checkout experiences to location-based marketing and loyalty programs. Additionally, and to regain the convenience shopper, grocery stores need to become a resource and offer shoppers high-quality prepared or ready-to-eat meals, especially for those looking to eat healthier. Complete in-store data and analytics must be cultivated to determine consumer behavior and cost reduction.

“Technology and competition have pushed the grocery industry into an incredible period of change,” said Corey Quiring, vice president of retail services, C&S Wholesale Grocers. “At C&S, we are committed to bringing fully integrated technology solutions that will support the transformation of our network of independent grocers into the IoT Age of the Consumer where device connected, and convenient shopping experiences are not only the norm – but demanded. Ultimately, this ensures independents maintain their niche but also their competitiveness against larger retailers and online channels.”

“We evaluated and considered every POS solution available. DUMAC is a leading commerce technology solutions provider with a world-class team,” continued Quiring. “They provide exceptional ongoing service and support, and we know we have selected the best solution. Together, we have the opportunity to change how people shop at their favorite independent supermarkets.”

“We are thrilled to continue our partnership with C&S,” said Mr. Howard McCarthy, president, and chief executive officer at DUMAC. “Along with C&S, we are completely changing the way independent supermarket owners connect with their customers, whether they operate a single lane store or thirty lanes! The RORC platform provides shoppers with the enhanced, efficient shopping experience they expect. This is an important strategic partnership as we continue to provide innovative technology solutions to independent grocers and meet the demands of their customers in order to support their growth.”
